What does Lock Aspect Ratio mean?+

Aspect ratio is the proportional relationship between an image's width and height. When aspect ratio lock is on, changing one dimension automatically adjusts the other to maintain the original proportions. For example, a 1920×1080 image has a 16:9 aspect ratio — if you set the width to 1280, the height automatically becomes 720. This prevents your image from appearing stretched or squashed.

Does resizing an image reduce its quality?+

Upscaling an image (making it larger than the original) will reduce quality because the tool must create pixels that don't exist in the source image. However, very large images (above 10MP) may slow down processing on older devices because the browser must hold the full image in memory.
